How to help keep your child safe during a lockdown

Wait for official communication: Check your email and Compass for any correspondence and rely on updates from the school or local authorities. They will inform you about the situation and any necessary actions.
Keep lines open: ensure your phone is charged and accessible for updates.
Follow Instructions: adhere to any instructions given by the school or emergency responders.
Trust the school to manage the situation: Your child’s safety and wellbeing is their number 1 priority.
Speak to your child after the lockdown and reach out to your school for any assistance or strategies to help your child.

Do not enter the school grounds: avoid going to school unless instructed to do so. This can interfere with emergency response efforts.

Don’t message the school via Social Media, it is not being monitored during a lockdown.
Do not call the school, phones cannot be monitored during a lockdown, or it can tie up the phone lines needed for emergency communication.
Do not collect your child until the school has advised you to.
Don’t spread rumours: Avoid sharing unverified information on social media or with other parents. Stick to the official updates.
Your child’s safety is our number one priority. Rest assured, the school is committed to doing everything possible to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
